LaboThe doctorate in sciences is obtained following training in research and an oral defence of a thesis, corresponding to 180 credits in an inclusive basis (the doctorate thus takes at least three years). Doctoral studies are available to those with an academic two year Masters degree (thus after an initial education of at least 300 credits). The doctorate consists of original research work. It gives access to higher education, responsible positions in the public or private sectors or to a career as a researcher.
